Straight A's in love
You come out for dancing
and you never see....
the girls come by to pick you up
and you hardly ever go
it seems your head is in the clouds above
you got the ways of a woman in love
I go by your house at night, and hoping I can see
the guy who's got you all worked up, I wish that guy was me
I don't know why it's you I'm dreaming of
you got the ways of a woman in love
Many is the night, I laid awake and cried
Now you never know how much you hurt my foolish pride
I recall your kisses, the times I held you thight
Now when I come to see you, you're sitting in the light
Missing all the things that we dreamt of
you got the ways of a woman in love
etc..

la muerte
life and death, it's so close
see you on the other side ( we don't speak the name of the dead )
hope it's softer for you there
your dog sam will miss you
but we will love him as much as we loved you
each time I pass in antwerp cathedral
I will burn a candle for you
next to that for my grandfather
until I decide to let you go
then I will speak your name

We live this shit...
life is a bitch
Feeling bad today ? Check out what happened to Tautomu Yamaguchi :
On the 6th of August 1945, the US bomber "Enola Gay" dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima. 80.000 Japanese died on the spot, that year another 60.000 died due to severe burnings and radiation diseases. Tautomu Yamaguchi, a 29-year old engineer happened to be in Hiroshima that day and survived. Nevertheless, the unlucky guy decided to travel to Nagasaki, where -for the second time-an atomic bomb was dropped on his head. I mean, can things get any worse ?
Crazy story :-)

On m'a dit...

This one's for Margo
e circospetti ci muoviamo
un po' randagi ci sentiamo noi.
Macaia, scimmia di luce e di follia,
foschia, pesci, Africa, sonno, nausea, fantasia..
e intanto, nell'ombra dei loro armadi
tengono lini e vecchie lavande

Don't rejoice in his defeat, you men. For though the world stood up and stopped the Bastard, the Bitch that bore him is in heat again.

Joyeux Pâques
Schol !!
de paus heeft zijn laatste kaars uitgeblazen
iedereen moet dood... that's life
ATMOSPHERE
Walk in silence
don't walk away in silence
see the danger
always danger
and the stalking
life
don't walk away
Walk in silence
don't walk away in silence
your confusion
my illusion
walk like a monster
confronting and die
don't walk away
people like you
find it easy
it comes to see
walking on air
hunting by the rivers, through the streets, every corner...
abandoned too soon
sit down with you
( care ..)
don't walk away

Giuliana Sgrena - Nicola Calipari
No man is an island, entire of itself,
every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main
if a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were,
as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were
any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind
and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls
it tolls for thee.
-- John Donne

El Greco
El Greco was born in 1541 near Heraklion on the greek island of Crete and died in 1614 in Toledo, Spain. The painting you see here is a "View on the city of Toledo" dated +/- 1600.
( NY MOMA )
We still find this painter attractive today, he is really an icon of catholisism and representation of different saints. When I was in Madrid I especially went looking for him in the Prado and the Museum Thyssen-Borneszima and I can say I was really impressed by the powerful force you experience by looking at his works.
The fierce colours he uses, the long-stretched figures who are anatomically impossible, but gives each painting a very dramatic tension. When you see an El Greco painting, always look at the right hand of the character, you will notice that the fingers are crossed. That was his signature.
I very much like the passion and the pain I feel when looking at his works, to me he is one of the greatest en certainly most unique painters I know.
The view on Toledo you see here, I find a very dark and depressing painting, the coming tempest predicts us times of violence and tragedy.. Also the very low perspective reminds us of the littleness ( nothingness ) of man in relation to history, faith and fortune.
I hope you enjoy him as much as I do.

Ultimate Calvin and Hobbes link
My tiger friend has got a sled
And I have packed a snack
We're all set for the trip ahead
We're never coming back
We're abandoning this life we've led
So long, Mom and Pop !
We're sick of doing what you've said
And now it's going to stop
We're going where it snows all year
Where life can have real meaning
A place where we won't have to hear...
"Your room could stand some cleaning"
The Yukon is the place for us
that's where we want to live
Up there we'll get to yell and cuss
And act real primitive
We'll never have to clean a plate
of veggie glops and goos
messily we'll masticate
using any fork we choose !
The timber wolves will be our friends
We'll stay up late and howl
at the moon, till nighttime ends
before going on the prowl.
Oh, what a life, we cannot wait,
to be in that arctic land,
Where we'll be masters of our fate
and lead a life that's grand.
No more of parental rules !
We're heading for the snow !
Good riddance to those grown up ghouls !
We're leaving, YUKON HO
